TPMS is not toxic in any way.
Glad it is getting better, it was very toxic a few years back when it was lottery based
Not possible. It wasn’t lottery based a few years ago.
I meant to say it was toxic when it wasn’t lottery based
8th grade was not lottery based.
The process was different than today but it was still somewhat random.
Every admissions process has some randomness, especially when there are so many more qualified kids than there are spots. The process the current 8th graders went through did use CogAT scores, which a lot of posters seem to believe decreases the randomness.

TPMS is the opposite of toxic. Seriously I've had two children go through the program and found their peers to be nothing but kind and supportive.
That only mean you don’t know what’s going on, guess they don’t tell you anything and you never bother led to find out what is actually happening in the group chat..

Anonymous wrote:Interesting that everyone assumes the question to be about TPMS magnet kids. FWIW - the entire class is pretty low drama and inclusive.

This year’s 8th graders are not lottery based. The lottery started with this year’s 7th graders.

The kids are decent but parents here not so much. It seems like some people will make negative statements in order to discourage others from accepting in the hopes of creating more movement on the wait list.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:There will be more than half of the students not coming from TPMS. +1 I was afraid to send my kid there because I discovered this board just when he was accepted. There hasn't been any toxic or dramatic behaviors!
