Say what you want about her political positions but to say she asked police to change her tire is dumb. She called AAA and then made the stupid decision to call the District Commander instead of the non emergency number to let them know her car was in the middle of the road. Makes sense to let the people currently in charge of traffic enforcement and safety of a traffic safety issue. If thus function was transferred to another department then she would have called them.

My favorite part is when she’d show up to every neighborhood event in her election golf cart…I’m pretty sure we weren’t far away from her showing up at childrens birthday parties and thanking the children for attending her event.

Also, the weird thing where she actually posted about how her husband encountered someone with a yard sign supporting her opponent and went to speak with them about it…and then encouraged people in the neighborhood to do the same. What kind of weird reeducation effort was that?

The only thing I am shocked by in this situation is that she didn’t demand a photo op with the tire and blame it all on racism.

I remember when she posted on the neighborhood listserv about a bunch of her campaign signs being stolen - and how much it upset her kids.

They do change tires. All the time. Community policing as well as roadway safety.

Would have gone a long way if she had tweeted her appreciation for their help after tweeting that they were basically Memphis.

YES. She's so clueless. Why ask a cop for help when she basically stated they weren't needed. That's her first fail. Then her second fail was when she tweeted with her lame excuse without saying her appreciation and thank you to the cops who helped her.

Well... That's their job!

According to her, it shouldn't be, so she better apologize for being an embarrassment and a hypocrite!

100% woke! All cops are bad!

*offer not valid if mildly inconvenienced

No but they are all meeting with police on Monday about traffic enforcement. I wonder if it will come up then. This is Jawando gearing up to prohibit traffic stops.

Practically speaking- assuming that is somehow his goal- how do you just not do traffic stops?

Drunk/erratic driving. Violations. All kinds of things absolutely warrant traffic stops.

Jawando stated during the election he's interested in a bill that prohibits stops for anything other than traffic safety. I have no idea how he defines traffic safety-related stops. I see some model legislation floating around out there by advocacy groups that state people shouldn't be pulled over for not wearing seatbelts or using car seats for kids. To me, that's safety.

But a larger issue is that police are getting illegal firearms out of vehicle stops at an alarming rate right now. I think it's in the public interest to get as many illegal guns off the streets as possible. Not to unjustly stop someone, but if they are driving a car that reeks of weed, that's obvious probable cause for investigating impaired driving. And not surprisingly, they find a lot of guns in those cars.

What can they say? Sorry for our hypocrisy? I mean, Kristin couldn't even apologize.

The fact that she has AAA makes this even more infuriating. She could have called anyone else that was at that meeting for help. Separately, I live in that area and I would be scared if I broke down where she did. Not a safe area at all. Hopefully she can fix it. LOL

If she has just met with a lawyer, she would call the lawyer?
