I feel pretty lucky that my kid’s middle school teachers have kept up with grading. I knew my kid’s report card grades before SIS closed as every assignment was handed in on time and graded already.

Some HS teachers didn’t enter grades for the past two months. Presumably, they have finally graded everything. Students would like some clue on how they are doing, and closing the grade book is ridiculous.

Agree.

Right before SIS closed I checked and saw many "Not graded" notes on my HS kids' classes so they have no clue how they are doing. How can student possibly keep track of their grades when the grades are not posted timely?

NOTICE: FCPS Weekly Progress Reports will not be sent to parents Monday, Jan. 23 through Monday, Feb. 6 during second quarter grading and report card generation.

Additionally, the Grade Book and Report Card modules in ParentVUE and StudentVUE will be closed Wednesday, Jan. 25, at 4 p.m. until Monday, Feb. 6 at 6 a.m.

This is what I have. Looks like opens on Monday.

Next Wednesday (2/8). It was written in small font on the bottom of the SIS log in page.

You don't need to understand it. There are many reasons -from nosiness, to keeping kids with particular needs on track, to teachers not having entered grades for many weeks- why a parent may want to have that access. And it's really none of your concern what those reasons are.

Well, luckily I didn't ask for anyone's reasons. I just said I don't get the big deal. Sorry you get all chapped when people see things differently than you.

Schoology should have all the assignments anyway.

Well, clearly just because you want something doesn’t mean you’re going to get it.

But they’re throwing an adult tantrum! And that *always* works to get them their way!

Unfortunately, it does.

Why do ES parents have to suffer because of how long it takes to get high school grades done? Why can't they be separate?

Schoology does not. It is school and teacher specific as to whether it does or not.

NP and no. I don’t think my son takes electronic Schoology tests for any classes. All assessments and most assignments are on paper. He’s another one with ADHD and in a couple of classes I don’t know if the grade will be a B or F or somewhere in between. So few grades are posted and so few assignments are ever added on Schoology. We rely on SIS to see missing assignments and then try to help him with an organizational plan to be caught up. We would love to do this proactively before things are due but there are only 2 teachers who regularly post upcoming assignments on Schoology.

Who are you again? Did I miss a vote where you were appointed DCUM board monitor and/or FCPS parent monitor? Take a seat.

I have 3 kids in HS in fcps. None of their teachers post assignment or test grades on schoology. Many of them don't post homework or classwork there, either.

SIS, not Schoology, is where we check for missing assignments and grades on things that are for the current quarter. My son is also allowed a retest if he gets below an 80. But, we don’t know how he did and if he needs to retest because SIS is closed. It’s very frustrating
