I was having this and googled it I think. You're supposed to open it when complete and let the steam out. Let is sit for a little bit and then it is a lot dryer. It doesn't have that heat element at the bottom that other brands do. If you don't do this they are very wet. I think some versions have a version for extra dry, but mine doesn't so try it

We use rinse aid in our Bosch and that helps a lot; we also use the extra dry function. I can't remember which series it is.

I also love our third rack. We use the silverware basket for silver, because I'm kind of obsessed with sorting the spoons and forks into their own separate spaces so they don't nest during washing, but the third rack gets used for cat food bowls, cooking utensils, Pyrex custard cups and china ramekins (we use a lot of these), and small plastic or metal storage containers (like the kind you send with kids in their lunchboxes).

Nope. Are you blocking the vent? If you read your manual it will tell you how to correctly load your dishwasher.

Yes to good knives (they don’t bang against anything here!), overflow silverware, rubber spatulas, tiny lids/yeti cup lids, ramekins from sauces/dips, little little stuff. I love the third rack!

We have a Kitchenaid, so YMMV, but our third rack is designed so it can hold glasses. We have a rack in the middle that cna hold about six glasses, plus a flat section on one side that holds all kinds of kitchen utensils, and one on the other side that is perfect for knives.

Have you tried using the sanitize cycle? Our dishes come out dry.
Our 3rd rack is very shallow and fits just silverware and flat utensils/spatulas (perfectly). But def not space for bowls etc.

My Bosch dries everything really well, including plastics, but it’s the 800 model that has some new drying technology (I think it’s called CrystalDry or something like that) that works really well. In my research, the 500 and 800 models both dry well. Which model do you have?

Silverware on one side, short dishes such as ramekins on the other -- be sure to lower the outer edge of the rack

You can raise or lower the middle rack as needed -- ours fits travel mugs and big glasses, not sure what you're trying to make fit?

I am obsessed with my third rack. I have a Miele and the second rack moves up and down. I took the second silverware rack out, so I use the top rack for all silverware and utensils. If I need to fit taller things in the middle (like wine glasses), I just move it down.

I love my third rack because that is where I put all my silverware and flat cooking utensils. The shelf right below that is adjustable so you can change the height to accommodate your cups or shorten it to accommodate big pots on the first rack. It’s a great machine.

The small Pyrex storage containers fit in the center part and their lids fit on the sides.

I am, but I also don't use the heat dry setting, so I think it's to be expected. I use the timer to run the dishwasher at night and then the door pops open in the wee hours. It definitely doesn't let the dishes dry as much my husband seems to think it does.

3rd rack is kind of dumb because it make the second and first rack too short

Can believe this is a thread but I'll bite. We put spatula's, large utensils/spoons and chef knives (I know these are supposed to be hand washed) up there. Cereal and other bowls go up there two provided they arent too tall. After we got used to it its been great.

+2 It took me a while to get used to it but now I love it, esp. for unloading. For some reason, putting away silverware from the basket was such a chore for me. Now I grab all of the same utensils in one scoop and put them right away. So much easier
