LOL. Gen X had its share of four-year lesbians too. Most of those ended up with their MRS degree in the end.

+1. I have a post-doctorate level of education. DH is a pilot with just a license. He makes more than me, and I make $200K. He is witty, fun, funny, ruggedly handsome, fit, kind, generous in every way, and adores me. Not having a degree is a non-issue. It’s just a piece of paper that he doesn’t need to be successful in his chosen profession.

Humans are generally pretty realistic about calculating where they will need to settle to find a mate. It will work itself out.

The nonsense about polygamy or a subset of men dating all the women is of course nonsense. The vast majority of people want normal traditional relationships and male educational attainment certainly isn’t enough to shake that.

I’m married to a man with a degree in architecture. He does security at a well known bar in our tourist town. I had no idea he went to college when I met him. It’s not the end of the world.

More 30 something educated women will realize they will not find a spouse until they give up the college-degree requirement or the divorced dads start dating.

But this is not new. Many college educated men have always been fine dating and marrying women without degrees, so the dating pool among the college educated has always been lopsided.


Of course men are/were okay marrying uneducated women because an education was not necessary to look hot, take care of a home, and raise kids. Men made the money and women did the rest. The problem with many men is that they don’t feel like they need to step up in other areas when they aren’t the breadwinner. It’s about finances, not a degree. Women generally have no issues marrying a wealthy man without a degree.
