I’m sure it’s annoying for her that you’re trying to micromanage her like this. She is an adult. Presumably you are too? It’s one drink. Unclench and let your mother enjoy this thing that brings her a small comfort each evening.

If it were my mom and she wasn’t receptive, I’d back off (but I am generally not amazing at conflict). I mean, if it improves her quality of life (which she seems to believe), I think the risks are small. But whatever you decide, it’s very sweet that you’re worried for her health and I hope she sees it in a loving light.
