Ooooh ... Hood! I've literally never heard of it. (We're from NY, forgive me.) It meets some of my average kid's wants. (Small, not in a big city, has a couple of programs they like.) Any real-life experiences from DCUM?

I have a friend who got an MBA there after graduating from St. Mary’s. Frederick is very charming and Hood has a really pretty campus.

Hood is a former women’s college that sent me lots of brochures back in the 80s.

I would consider it for my son who would do well in a small college.

Everyone I know who went there loved it!

I went to St. Mary’s in the 00’s. I’m sure much has changed since then but I loved every minute. Small classes, got to know many professors very well (would get coffee with them outside of class and chat), and a very close knit community of students. On weekends we studied, hung out at the waterfront, took trips to “town” to go shopping, worked out, cheered on athletic teams. So many of my classmates went on to great grad schools and/or are very successful in their chosen field. It was very intellectually stimulating but not cut throat. I hope my kids want to go there 😀
