Not at all. For 9th its acceptance rate has been very low the last few years. I’d say Hilton or NCS. Ncs has been on the downturn as far as popularity in the last few years. If she’s waitlisted at multiple schools her best chance of movement would be ncs followed by Holton
Very low? Maybe. But certainly not lower than NCS or Holton. Potomac has been slipping lately and ceding ground to Basis Independent McLean and others that now outrank Potomac, so I think the admissions chances at Potomac will only get better in the next few years as people move to other, better ranked VA and DMV schools.

Really? From what our consultant has told us, NCS will probably be the hardest and then Sidwell/Potomac followed by Holton. Is this legitimate?
Don’t you trust your consultant?
For certain services yes. However, everything is pay to play so what I've learned is information is asymmetric. Take that how you want but I try to gather as much info as I can from multiple sources
Why did you hire a consultant coming from a K-8? I say this very genuinely curious. We have a current 7th grader (who will be applying to that exact list) and I assumed the school did a sufficient job such that we don't need external help.

Anonymous wrote:Private K-8? That is a hook and hopefully you were steered to apply to a reasonable list of schools.
At our MD K-8, a very high number got into their first choice (and your list was well represented) and the rest their second choice.
