I flew United nonstop to Portugal last summer and then UA had outsourced my return flight with Air Canada and that was A MESS. The actual main flight itself was fine but the complete and utter disorganization both in portugal and in Montreal was awful and resulted in significant stress and a missed connection so just be careful with that. Could be a "summer 2022 craziness" situation hard to say.
Air Canada is terrible

TAP is different. A four-hour line at the Lisbon airport just to speak with a customer service rep (and that business as usual, there wasn't a big storm or something) and 10 hours getting dropped from calls just to reschedule a flight. TAP is great, unless you have an issue.Anonymous wrote:Don't check bags and go direct if at all possible.
Thats really the only solution for most airlines.
Most are fine if you do that. Any other time I've had a layover or checked its been a hassle (iceland air, united, american, etc). TAP isnt any different.
