That's true. The weecare takes information from the Maryland Network Locate. I think weecare charges parents. My provider said weecare took her info and made a page of her daycare business and they keep telling her there's families who are interested and needs to join weecare.
The provider said no thanks. She doesn't like when apps takes her information from public official websites like the Maryland Network LOCATE.

Checkccmd has inspection reports and contact info for licensed daycares, helps weed out any egregious ones to look at those first. Searchable by city or zip code.

My kids are older now so I don't know if either place has openings.

Screened Providers
All of our providers in the program have had at least:
extensive interviewing with the Monday Morning Moms staff
letters of reference on file
physician certification of good health
their homes inspected for compliance with fire, health and safety standards

I disliked Monday Morning Moms because their backup care option is a different daycare altogether, at a different home, and because the provider I used was always, ALWAYS over capacity and MMM said that she "worked better" with more kids in her care.

I also hate the name, which reinforces the notion that childcare is a women's issue.

Try the Official website from Maryland to find child care. They work with the Maryland State Department of Education. They only show licensed Family Child care home(daycares) and Centers.

Someone who needs infant care immediately needs to explore every possible avenue, so yes, they should contact providers on the list from the state. But an advantage of MMM is that they have a network of home daycares and will be able to tell you which (if any) have openings and arrange visits, without you having to call all of them. So it cuts a bit of the work out (for providers too). It's not some shady company, they've been around for a long time and I know folks who have used them.

If you hire a nanny pay her well because is temporary
