They are definitely babyish. There is a huge selection in Hanna and Tea is definitely not babyish.

You can still find lots of non-babyish stuff at carters and target and I know the right sizes there and they’re cheap so those are my go to. Sometimes old navy or h&m but I don’t want to go in person and neither of those has free shipping like Target does w my red card. I can usually get free shipping from carters too they have it frequently.

Target and Old Navy. And the pandemic hit when she had just turned 9 so we started using Stitch Fix. That was great until it suddenly wasn’t - at about 11.5 she hit the XS juniors size range and started to want a lot more options with more teen styling. We do Macy’s and Aerie now.

Tie-dye -- soooo much tie-dye --and smiley faces are HUGE! The girls just aren't wearing "play dresses" or the kinds of patterns you see at Tea and Hannah by starting right around this age.

My 9 yr old DD gets her basics from Old Navy, Athleta, and H&M. She has some splurgy stuff from Vintage Havana, Chaser, Design History, and Love Junkie ( I buy these brands on sale).
The folks suggesting Tea and Hannah -- which are lovely brands -- are missing the point that you want to move away from too-babyish clothes.

I felt like 8 was a hard age to shop for my DDs. Some of the brands were trending too babyish, but tween brands (AF kids, Hollister, Zara) weren’t right either. There was a lot of Old Navy/Gap/Target from ages 8-10. My DDs are almost 11 now and Athleta leggings and various sweatshirts from Athleta, AF kids, Altar’d State, and her swim meets are one’s uniform. The other loves Gap teen (shirts meant to be crop tops fit her perfectly), AF kids, and our local tween girl boutique.
