It's always dangerous to remake a classic. Ghostbusters (original) continues to be promoted (along with Jaws) by Universal Studios, so the Lady Ghostbusters had to contend with a pretty spirited fanbase that most remakes dont.

Sorry, I have not seen Les Mis. Read sections of the book in French for school 20 years ago and enjoyed Joe Queenan's review of it where he mentions that the typical theater goer loves to elect politicians who would jail someone for stealing bread.

Go back to watching a Marvel movie now.

I may be the world's biggest Scooby Doo fan and have watched many of the spin offs (some of which are good, like Mystery Incorporated, and some of which are awful). This goes in the awful bucket with some of the others. This has nothing to do with Hamilton (which is very good but still takes it easy on the main character, who I am guessing was actually unlikeable in real life) and "Lady" Ghostbusters, which was a thoroughly middle of the road comedy that got a ton of misogynist hate from dudes who probably think every Adam Sandler movie is genius. Stop turning every comment into a culture war. Both comedians of color and white guys can and do make garbage.
