They've only mentioned her being Harry Stone's daughter.

I don't think there's been a mention of Christine Sullivan yet. Dan's character did not end up with her as they have mentioned his late wife.

I really enjoy the show. I'm always skeptical about reboots but maybe I enjoy this one so much because I've only seen a few episodes of the original.

I watched 2 episodes last night. I forgot how much I enjoy actual sitcoms. They don’t have to be real, just decent giggles here and there. I’ll keep up with it - it’s so nice to take a break from Housewives, Cop (Firefighter) Dramas and True Crime.

I would love a reboot of Perfect Strangers! Balki and Cousin Larry would still be living together, probably raising their grandchildren.

They could still do the dance of joy, they would just need walkers.

Perfect Strangers would never happen today, with the exaggerated dopey ethnic tropes.

Marsha Warfield (Roz) isn’t original, but was on for most of the series after the original female bailiff Flo died. She wrote a nice tribute when Harry Anderson died.

The original female bailiff was Selma, played by Selma Diamond for the first 2 seasons. After her death, Florence Halop played Flo in season 3, and then she unfortunately died too. Then came Roz beginning in season 4.

The first two episodes were cute, but this will only work if the ensemble cast develops quirkier, more interesting characters.

Larroquette needs to be more glib and arrogant; he’s coming across flat and one-dimensional. The bailiff is too silly; she’s no Flo or Roz. The prosecutor is ahead of the curve. The clerk needs to step it up. I hope the actress playing the stenographer becomes part of the cast.

And the judge: she needs to play it quirkier and with more confidence.

I saw a whole slew of ads for this during the NFL games and man does it look bad.

Sad that so many of the original cast died (and not that old!) and I like that John Larroquete is back.

Nostalgia is a powerful feeling.

I watched the second of the two episodes and the last few minutes of the first one -- there was a nice scene with just Larroquette talking "to" the late Harry in Harry's old chambers.

Interestingly, a couple of publications like Variety gave it positive reviews and noted that viewers need to give it a couple of episodes. Reviewers got the first six episodes, apparently, and a couple said that it takes a few episodes to get going but is funny and does refresh the old show. Dan (Larroquette) being a total lecher about women is gone, for instance, can't play that any more. I'll watch some more episodes and see how it goes. Larroquette is a great comic actor and I liked the way Dan was struggling with changing from being a prosecutor to being a defense attorney!

Speaking of, what was with every show having a weird, horny male sidekick back in the day? Dan on Night Court, Larry the neighbor on Three’s Company, Charley the neighbor on Empty Nest. What was that? I don’t watch a lot of new tv but is that still a trope?

I don't know if I'll watch the new one, but dang, that was a funny show back in the day. They just don't make sitcoms like they used to.
