NP here, but having a non damaged car is now keeping up with the Jones? Talk about inflation. I think what the poster meant is that you maintain a neat and tidy appearance vs buying a new luxury car. Driving around in a damaged car gives the perception that you don’t care remotely care about how things look at all. I would fix it on the cheap as 12 year old Hondas still have value, but almost zero in its current condition.

I’ve never had a landlord ask to look at my car. Where we live currently is 2 blocks from where we lived previously. We walked over. The apartment manager could have walked over herself to see our car and apartment. She didn’t ask and I seriously doubt she did. Our car info wasn’t on the application.
