No. The grille is not present on other Toyota cars. It's the grille that specifically makes this model look downright evil. Toyota is usually bland and boring, not ugly.

Toyota circa 1998 was bland and boring. The current generation Prius, CHR, Sienna, and Camry are some of the ugliest cars on the market today.

The 2023 Toyota Prius is the current generation. It’s been completely redesigned. No one in their right mind would call it one of the ugliest cars on the market today.

Worked well for “KN” I mean KIA.

So true. So many matte black KN being driven by bland soccer moms.

It’s made in Japan for people who don’t want to buy a Lexus

Almost all of Toyota’s other stuff is made in the USA

I’m strongly considering one this month

It compels me to think it will be in car rental fleets all over the country. They shoulda called it the Toyota Stealth instead, since it’s so lacking in personality it’s practically invisible.

WTH are you telling about? It does look bland and boring. Including the grill.

It's an unusual look for Toyota. And not in a good way.

Read PP about turbochargers. Cars with turbos need big grills.

The world needs fewer angry Priuses and more mirrors mounted on fenders (and good visibility and headroom and a proper grill)

The new one is another forgettable, squished crossover thing that could wear the badge of any carmaker

Looks like a 1978 Plymouth Valiant.

Every car has those giant grilles now. New models all looking like their mouths are hanging open.

More cars are making use of turbochargers to produce adequate horsepower in smaller engines. Turbochargers have intercoolers which require lots of airflow to allow them to function properly. Hence the larger grills. Larger grill = more airflow to the intercooler.

Science!

This is cool, I didn’t know this car existed. There are three other Toyota crown models being released- estate, sedan, sport. Sadly none of them look like the photo you posted.

Downright evil? Good grief you live a sheltered life. It's not evil at all. You are weird.

I am enjoying “angry prius” and “Japanese robot” as car descriptors. We have a heritage land cruiser and it looks like an apocalypsemobile with a crew cut when the cargo basket is on the roof.
