That’s nice for you, but those of us with kids in sports only have the option to travel at spring break.

Anonymous wrote:Agreed that airfare is very expensive! We booked an airbnb with family which ended up being fairly affordable on Gulf Coast of Florida, but the airfare was almost $2000 for a family of four! More than we expected, but we'd committed to the trip.
I would be totally fine with spring break being separated from Easter if several school districts around us followed suit. But having different spring breaks is hard on teachers and other working families.

Lol. Had nothing to do with the holiday. It was that they had breaks separate from other area counties, so many teachers had to burn all their leave to care for the children who were on a different break.
+ us. I teach in a different district so I took time off to take a trip just like you all take time off work when you vacation with your kids on spring break. The difference is that we have to get subs and parents get upset when their child's teacher isn't there.![]()
IMHO, there should just be a NOVA unified calendar that is set 2-3 years out.
It was admin and Gatehouse who didn’t fully realize the consequences of going a different week.

Where? Will there be snow?

Last year spring break did not align with Easter and we were able to fly to a lovely beach resort for the week. Unfortunately, I don't see that happening this year. Need some suggestions.
Um, yes. This is why you book spring break in advance.
What else did you expect 3 months out from peak travel season?
