Some women get pregnant naturally and easily at 43.
Other women are completely infertile at that age.
Most are in between.

There are about 400K IVF cycles each year in the US and about 10% or 40K are donor egg.
Most people tell no-one about donor egg--not their mother, sister, best friend, etc.

For all the people saying "so and so conceived this way, at that time":
Unless you were in the room when it happened you really have no idea regardless of what the couple is (or isn't) saying.
Couples lie all.the.time for their own protection.

Yeah, she's always been fit but was uber-fit in Fleishman is in Trouble. Made me want to hop on the treadmill stat!

I got married at 39. 3 kids - 40, 43, 46. No fertility issues at all.

I am a fairly healthy person. I have never used BC pills. No STDs or STI ever. Started my periods at age 16.

It's not hostility. People are just saying that while one person's experience of conceiving at 43 might involve reproductive interventions, another's might not. I actually think the hostility in this thread is coming from people who assume that Danes conceived using donor eggs/frozen embryos/etc. and is lying by omission by not disclosing this to the public at large. Like a PP said her RE gets "angry" about stories like this. That's hostile! It's hostile to greet someone else's pregnancy news with suspicion and assumptions and anger and resentment.

I'm happy for anyone how has a wanted pregnancy at any age, regardless of how they conceive. I also am aware that for some but not all women, conceptions without intervention at 43 is unlikely. I would not assume I could get pregnant at 43 or 46, even with interventions. But I'm also not mad if I hear about someone getting pregnant at those ages and she doesn't immediately explain how it happened (and I also believe that sometimes it happens without interventions).

My mom had triplets at 42, back in the 60's, no fertility treatments. (No, I'm not one of the triplets.)

My Aunt got unexpectedly pregnant at 42 after decade of infertility. They had already adopted and they were completely shocked with the pregnancy.

She was not a bloodline of mine (Aunt). All the women on my side are extremely fertile. Preventing pregnancy is the issue, not getting pregnant.

And we all have very late menopause. I am still getting regular periods at 53.

43 isn't THAT old when you have plenty of money to do IVF endlessly.

Conceived easily and had healthy kids at 40 and 42, myself.

My mom, sister and MIL also had healthy kids late in life. Doesn't always require intervention.

Plenty of people have unassisted pregnancies in their early 40s. These responses are more appropriate if she was like 48. Or maybe she had issues at 33 with her first and this is her 3rd go-round of IVF. Who knows.

If it's "natural" there's probably a decent likelihood of twins. Women start dropping multiple eggs a month at that age.

She is presenting her story as if it's evidence that Danes had reproductive challenges due to age. I got pregnant at 41 on the first try, gave birth at nearly 42. Healthy and happy pregnancy. So there's another story.

Me too. She’s 7 and vibrant.
