Agree totally. I hate the decor but this person just went for it and must love it. Good for them. Also good luck selling it

Reminds me of a kitschy hotel I stayed at in Greece.

Looks like they just gray-i-fied everything and completely removed all the character. Blech.

Obviously, some of the "before" was over the top - the ceilings! - but they just made the kitchen bland. Did they re-stain the hardwoods? They changed the bathroom from dated, but functional, to up to the minute and a mess. The tile is not right for the character of the house/will be dated in a couple of years. And the tub/shower combo looks good, but you're going to have to dry out the tub every time you shower and it looks like the shower area is actually smaller. Fail.

The exterior is a mish mash of a couple of styles and the garage really needed a makeover to match the style of the main part of the house (or vice versa). The blue trim really didn't do much, IMO.

I have to admire their level of commitment and available cash.

Op back. I loved it originally but was talked out of it. I would’ve kept a number of the angels. And loved the rose carpet. Actually tried to locate it for my home.

Same. And I bet everything in there is insanely clean and well-maintained.

I saw “before” pics on Zillow. Most of it was, to my mind, just specific, not ugly. The reno is dull.

I don’t really disagree but if you have a big family and pets, vinyl flooring can make sense as a practical matter. We did engineered hardwood in our new construction, not vinyl…but (admittedly for budget reasons as well), I would have been in a state worrying out real hardwoods getting messed up. Maybe one day!

I didn’t like the home before but it makes me kinda sad to imagine someone doing all that work to personalize a home just to have it named “ugliest home in America.”

Glad the family got the makeover they wanted though. That would have been expennnnsive.

It makes me a little sad too, thinking of the people who poured their personalities into it. Although I wouldn't want to live in it pre-renovation.
