+1. I get the move to the right rule but most of the time I AM going faster and passing car after car on the left. If there is a car going faster in the left lane I will move over to the right usually to let them pass. But often the cars in the right lane are closely following each other so I keep going in the left lane until I can safely move over for the even faster passing car to go ahead. Sometimes this clear irritates said driver because they will ride unsafely on your rear bumper making it known THEY want to go even faster than you. At some point if you are in the left lane passing at say 60 mph (so definitely above the posted speed limit) and the right lane is congested the person who wants to do 65-70mph is just going to have to chill out for a few minutes.

I drive on GW parkway 5 days/week, and have for years. People regularly go 65 maybe 70, but not 80. My guess is that you have no idea how fast people are going and generally have a poor assessment of your surroundings and the flow. Just because you're going the speed limit, it doesn't make you a better driver than someone who drives faster, but knows how to adjust based on the conditions. 65 in the daytime, when dry, is totally fine.

Probably just for the construction. GW parkway is basically a raceway and NPS does not care. The NPS cars are usually going at least 10 over.

I'm also against speed cameras. Fining people is just a way for the government to take more of our money. Instead, we should have automated small-ordinance rocket launchers.
