Another +1 to online. I met my now husband on Bumble in 2016 when I was 25. We got married in 2021.

Mother of three 20 somethings. College and grad school are the big ones. But of those who don't meet their SOs that way...it's aallll apps.

I mean, I met my husband at a bar when I was 22, haha

My son just got engaged to a wonderful young woman. He's 28 and she's 26; they've been dating for two years. They met through her mom, who was the volunteer coordinator at Big Brothers/Big Sisters, where my son was a volunteer mentor.

College is the best place.

I made a resolution and kept to it, of speaking to one new guy every day. Met my DH commuting. Turns out a friend knew him too. Worked in an adjoining office so that helped.

I met my DH through a volunteer group when I was 29. My sister met her husband through mutual friends who were on a softball team with him. A guy I work with is engaged -- his fiance had worked on our team before he arrived and someone else in the dept thought they'd be a good match and introduced them. Now apps definitely seem to dominate (my brother and SIL met that way) but in addition to that, people should just be out in the world living their lives and nurturing friendships generally.

I’m 34. My ex-husband (I got married at 24 and divorced at 30) I met in grad school. My current husband I met through a hobby (running and training for marathons).

It’s hard to meet people. The first wave is usually in college/grad school. It used to be through work, but with more work from home, that’s getting trickier. Sometimes friends of friends or hobbies. But other than that, it’s apps. There’s no bar scene anymore…everything is pre-planned with no spontaneity, like it’s weird to talk to people you don’t already know at a bar. The apps can be pretty depressing, but that’s how my 30 year old brother dates.
