They don’t need to be a retina specialist to tell if your retina is detaching. A retina specialist would be needed to reattach it if it were , but any ophthalmologist can dilate your pupils and check your retina. Good luck, hopefully it isn’t that!

My dr explained that they are clumps of cells and gravity will eventually cause them to settle at the very bottom of your eye where you will no longer see them. I also had the flashes for about a year. They have calmed down and now about 80% better. This all comes with aging eyes.
