-45min/day work out with one day off- focus on combo of cardio and stregnth training and make sure I elevate heart rate when doing cardio

-Weight Watchers for 4 months or until I'm down 12lbs (I'm 5'2" and 138lbs-) and then will do daily weigh-ins to maintain goal weight. I started the plan a few days ago and so far so good- seems doable.

-evening meditation/yoga so I sleep better to decrease stress

-Drop swearing - , I have been swearing more when something frustrating happens- hoping all of the above actions reduce my stress in general (age 58)

So proud of you! Keep it going and hope you have an amazing 2023!

I bought a juicer and have been making two juices each night (one for DH) to drink in the AM. They have lots of ginger in them and make me feel great! There’s also something meditative about getting all the ingredients together and washing and chopping.

I’ve decided to go back to a Pilates studio I went to regularly back before the pandemic since Pilates is great for my body type. Going to continue with tennis, short runs and some lifting.

I’ve got a big event in June so I’m motivated. I’ve been slowly decreasing alcohol since Sept and I’m also to a place where I don’t want to drink anymore at all. It feels really good.

Try to continue to:
1) IF 16/8;
2) Eat relatively low-carb & lot of veggies during day, with protein & few healthy carbs at night, PLUS a small dessert;
3) Sleep 8 hours;
4) Minimal alcohol, lots of water;
5) Work out 7X a week; 7 days cardio (running or speed-walking), plus 3X/week strength training.

Lost almost 20 pounds doing so over last year. Slow and steady wins the race.

I plan to swim and lift 3x weekly and walk my dog every day and follow good sleep hygiene and eat healthier.

I’ll continue 3x peloton and 3x lifting every week. Hope to lose about 15-20 more pounds.

I really need to stretch more but it never seems like a priority.

Dry January - which I hope to continue into Feb. and the spring ( I love good wine and pairing wines with different foods). More fatty fish, veggies, and fewer carbs. Up the cardio, but I have not set a goal yet. I would also like to try a silent retreat (if I can get away from spouse and kids for a week). Write/journal again. Strive to do my job but shed my overachiever tendencies.

And recommitting to healthy eating after being lax about it between thanksgiving and new year’s. I’m going to try a new veggie soup recipe each week of January and February to make it fun!

I’d love to hear more about your strength training. I’d read one should rest every 2 days.

Of course! I’m so enthusiastic about the Hard Core on the Floor calendar to use with the Peloton app. I’ve been using it for years. A trainer (not associated with Peloton) moderates a Facebook group of fitness minded people and she suggests classes to take each day (with two rest days). It’s usually 10 minutes of core, then 30 minutes of either upper body, lower body, or full body work. It’s completely changed my body composition, highly recommend it! But if that sounds too structured, just find movement you enjoy doing and commit to it at least a few times a week.

Rejoined a gym after quitting since the beginning of the pandemic (summer 2020), splurged on six weeks of personal training 3x/week.

Stopping drinking - been hitting the bottle hard over the last year and a half.

Working on being present, daily journaling, increased cooking and daily activity.

My goal is to focus on getting more sleep, working on strength a little more consistently, and maybe adding some jogging to my daily 5 mile uphill walk (and getting all of these holiday cookies and pies out of my house! I'm not eating a lot of it but since I'm used to not eating it at all, I feel kind of gross).

My goal is (assuming my children stop getting sick every other week) to start working a 10-15 minutes high intensity cardio workout into my lunch break and start getting back into strength training/body weight work in a way that also engages my kids so they help motivate me to keep at it and I don’t have to carve time for it out of my having-childcare time.

Definitely dry January to jumpstart more moderation. Like maybe 4 drinks a month?

I’m currently doing a beginner 30 day workout from nourish move love, throwing in the occasional Caroline Girvan. I do yoga 4-5 xs per week but usually just 20 min. And I’ve started attending a women only weight lifting class on Sunday afternoons.

Plan to do Dry January with the exception of BFF 60 birthday.

Nutrition will be more protein and less pasta.
