I’m a 40sF with one. It’s okay if you don’t like it, I do. It suits me and I love it. Unlike my previous nostril piercing the septum never gets caught- it’s actually my favorite piercing I’ve had. I don’t wear earrings (the piercing causes many earlobes to droop and the hole to enlarge over time. My mom actually had a stitch placed in hers as they had stretched / like gauges. Yuck).

All piercings are bodily modification. There may be some You prefer, some you don’t, but if you also pierce your ears or circumcise your son, you’re already in the body mod game:
So why judge?

Unlike ear lobe gauges, other piercings doesn't need surgical intervention if you change your mind.

Yes, that's the term. Idk if people are high or drunk or trying to look edgy when they make such decisions but its a poor choice in long term and makes one question their decision making ability.

How is it a poor choice long term if it’s their body and that’s the way they want their body to be?

They may not feel that way in few years.

To me it reads young, carefree, social and likes to go out and have fun, likes travel and music, somewhat trendy. They are probably somewhat privileged. In short, I think people do it to convey that they are young, free and cooler than boring suburbanites
