Decades ago, it was. That battle was lost. And they've since changed the format of the SAT and the name, so it's no longer a similar issue.
Originally, Scholastic Aptitude Test, now Scholastic Assessment Test.

From my viewpoint as a former FCPS mom, THEY LIE!!! They say "well we don't really worry about standardized tests." Then they rush to be class parents, on PTA, get private WISC testing, prep, appeal, etc. It's all a front.

Wow its like everything this OP is saying is going over people's heads. She cannot do enrichment, even free because she is working two jobs, parenting and part time school. Lets stop judging how parents work to give their children better opportunities and, yes, wealthy families have a lot built in.

Why is that?
Because education is one way to gaining wealth and improve your families status. Wealthy families tend to need to protect their wealth and increase it, which is a different game than building wealth. You can hire the right people to manage your moeny, you are not able to hire the people to build wealth.
Wrong. I’m wealthy and I highly value education for my kids. Why? Because THEY are not wealthy and if they are waiting around for an inheritance, they won’t get one. They need to become educated, work and be productive members of society.
That's middle class thinking.

Op, I know in my city there are a lot if enrichment programs for low income students. They are free. You should ask your child' teacher or school. They can probably connect you with some.

I don’t think anyone cares so much if others prep. I think they care if they consider what they do (prepping) as not cheating. It is.

It’s prepping. Let’s say her kid qualified for free IQ testing. Would it be okay for her kid to take it 2x less than a year apart, because she can’t afford (in time or money) to broaden her child’s horizons? Cheating is cheating.
