I live in Florida. I spent most of my life up north though and I still have some cold weather gear which I'll certainly be using. But so far today I've gotten three texts from my apartment complex talking about covering stuff outside and leaving on the heat and pipes. I'm like dude calm down but I understand maybe some people don't know that stuff. Also a lot of people here really do not have the heavy jackets or even really warm pants. My 8-year-old does have a puffer coat, but only because we visited up north 2 years ago and it barely fits her now and I think she's worn it about a dozen times in those two years.

I'm pretty excited because I think it's going to feel more like the Christmases I'm used to!

The low temperatures could cause a falling iguana alert from the National Weather Service, which is when the temperature reaches into the 40s and reptiles become immobile and fall from trees.

NP but I grew up there, and, not really. When it never gets that cold, people just don’t have the clothes for it. I didn’t have anything warmer than a fleece (except ski clothes for vacation) growing up. Maybe a leather jacket? Idk. A winter wardrobe in Florida isn’t really a thing. People also don’t have ice scrapers and other gear if there is precipitation.

It’s not that bad. It’s not going to snow and you can let your car warm up to get the ice off. My family also lives there. They don’t spend time outside during those cold snaps. It’s true, they don’t have the clothes for it.
