He is and was big for his age but still struggled a bit with the tube and with manuevering on the escalator thing that takes you up the hill.
Anonymous wrote:op I think posters are being a tad harsh here, though I agree I wouldn't take my 10 month old tubing though on one of those controlled hills at the resorts the risk is probably not as high as everyone is making it out to be. THey are kind of slow, crashes don't happen often because you have your own lane and they'd be on your lap. I definitely saw very small kids on laps at the sledding hill in canaan valley which is huge and fast. So, I'm just saying you're not that crazy as dcum is making it out. That being said you'll need to wait for most of these adventures! My 3 year old almost 4 year old did great learning to ski last year (connected to a harness and us) and this year at almost 5 I'm pretty sure he'll be off and pretty independent. But that's the earliest unless you live out west and are out alll the time.
You can enjoy some sledding with a 1 year old on small hills around here if it snows!

Just a friendly reminder that you should also avoid going down slides with the baby in your lap. Water or otherwise. You sound a like a fun parent, so this will be tempting, but kids’ legs can get caught between the outside of your leg and the slide, causing a fracture. This is one of those things parents would never suspect could happen, but does.

Glad you were able to get a reality check here and are taking it on board. Have you read/heard how dangerous it is to go down a playground slide with a young child? Imagine that x1000.
