4.0 Unweighted/4.4 Weighted. Raked 1/220. White male. Eagle scout. 6 AP. Passion for computer science since elementary with personal blog and projects highlighted in application. Part time job since sophomore year (20hr/week during school year, 30+ during summer). Did not write optional GMU essay.

Exactly. I’m sure other kids (from elsewhere) rule out universities that they live close to as well. Kids from all over come to GMU, so it’s really just locals who pooh-pooh it due to proximity.

2. Merit aid: Most people got the 4k merit aid but I wonder if there will be more later
So, you don't think there is a GPA requirement or SAT benchmark for either Honors or for merit aid?
