Subject: Anyone here married happily for the long term?
I was happily married for about 20 years but got divorced at 25 years. I thought that was a pretty successful marriage, got our kids raised without drama or trauma, but at least one person on DCUM has informed me that you can't call a marriage successful if it ends in divorce at any point. I disagree, what do you think?

Yep. And I honestly don't understand what anyone "happily married" is doing on the relationship forum. So they can comment sancitimoneously on other people's posts?

10 years married, 15 together, two kids under 5, and we're extremely happy. We're best friends, always make time for each other, and although we had certain instabilities in life, our relationship has never been one of them. Our parents and grandparents are all together and happy as well.

OP here. I’m sensing a pattern of putting each other and the marriage first. I would like to add that we actively guard against infidelity too. I guess by putting the marriage first, lol! But what I’m getting at is we don’t invite trouble.

Definitely happily married. I still find my husband to be the most interesting person I know, and we've been together for 20 years (married for 13 of them). I think he's so cool

Married twenty years this year, two teens. Very stable happy marriage. Not that we don't get annoyed or angry sometimes, but we still like each other in the sense that we still want to talk, and hang out, and do things together. Sex has slowed down, but it's still there.
We are dealing with some teen drama and I think we both anticipate the marriage getting even better once our kids are launched.

Married 20 years last month
Very happy, feel lucky every day. We both go out of our way to prioritize each other. It's very balanced, and fulfilling.

Married 34 years and our marriage bears no resemblance to the 10 or 15 year mark. We are content and kind to one another. The older I get the more responsibility I feel for my own happiness. We have never shared many interests barring our child and that’s still the case and still okay.

16 years, 2 kids, not perfect, but no major problems, I'm happy I married him. I like reading relationship posts, though. Don't know why.
