When we renovated our master bath a few years ago we took ours out. The old bathroom had a large tub and a tiny tiny shower. We used the tub maybe once or twice a year. Now we have a hug shower where the old tub was an its amazing. We are very happy and don't miss the tub at all. The other bedrooms share a bathroom that has a standard tub/shower combo so there is still a bathtub for bathing kids.

Wife soaks in tubs hour plus daily. I understand that many people don't use it, but you can shower in a tub, whereas you can't soak in a shower stall. If you're thinking long-term or future sale, I would definitely keep a tub.

Must have a tub, and with a large tile surround, not a useless vessel tub. Just like in the 80s.

+1 Long soaking baths are a big part of my relaxation routine. I would not boy somewhere without a comfortable tub.

I only want a shower in the primary.

Yes, to me it's just an intimate space where guests would seldom go. It doesn't need to be a secret sprawling spa.

I don’t like baths so would prefer not to have one thing up space. Would prefer a large shower. Would want a tub in another bathroom though for my toddler

I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve used the tub in our master since we bought out house 15 years ago. We’re ripping it out and installing a traditional sauna, but making it so if we sell and new owners want a tub they can plumb it in easily.

Yes I need one. It's a deal breaker without one. That being said, if it's a small home of 3br or less, a tub/shower combo is okay. I would be looking at larger homes and it would be strange to not have a nice tub.

Separate tub > only having a nice shower > tub/shower combo in a master bathroom.

we are looking for a house now...if its a house with an updated bathroom and no bath, its a ding and not a dealbreaker, but there needs to be a tub somewhere in the house (for me and for kids). If its an older bathroom with no bathtub...I think its an opportunity to redo a bathroom and include a tub.

No, I think our house is the perfect size without one, and I wouldn't want to give up the square footage or add enough that I wouldn't resent the space lost to a seldom used tub.

Yes: SO uses a tub. Its absence would be a deal breaker.
