Can't assess without knowing more what you mean by "good grades." Almost all As? How many APs? IB diploma program?
3.9 unweighted (school doesn’t use weighted GPA); 4 AP level classes (school doesn’t offer AP classes, but she has taken Advanced level in 4 classes).

Same here. DD got in RD with 3.9 UW, 1510, lots of longtime EC's with HS Leaderships and was able to tigh wildly different school EC's together in a non-school EC project.
Good friend with lower stats 3.8UW, TO, 4 AP's got in RD too. Both though showed thorough interest, attending lots of online info sessions in addition to the in person campus visit.
Good that they got in, but those stats (besides the 1510 SAT) are below the average for W&M so the odds were likely against them and no one should think they will have similar success unless URM, first generation, etc. Also, how long ago was this?
NP. Did you see those GPAs were unweighted? I’m sure that 3.9 is much higher with AP classes added in.
Thank you, you are correct. I just never post a weighted gpa because it varies so wildly. Both had done APs in all 5 core classes, just not all in the same year (9, 10,11) and some were special classes like analytical chem, post AP kind of. But most just want to those hard numbers.
Anyways, I am wishing OP's DD success is decides to go for ed2 or RD. I am positive she will be happy, no matter where she ends up.

Anonymous wrote:The longer you wait, the fewer the seats, and the more desperate everyone becomes. The result? In RD there are fewer seats and tons more applications. If you really want a school, ED. If you apply RD, you’re kidding no one - you are playing the field. Good luck with that.

In my opinion, that's going to be a tough admit for RD without test scores. But you never know! I really think she should only do ED2 if she'd be very happy to attend. If she's on the fence, don't do it.
