I just read Shrines of Gaiety and enjoyed it. Also, if you are into historical mysteries, the Maisie Dobbs series is really good.

I have the Rose Code sitting on my kindle and I said “oh I’ll go read it” and then I said “hmm maybe not” 😂

I absolutely loved Golum and the Ginni. Didn’t enjoy Rose Code.

I’ll add The Marriage Portrait.

Anonymous wrote:The Winds of War and it's sequel War and Remembrance by Herman Wouk. Navy family during WWII. Epic. Two of my favorite books ever, I read them years ago and more recently listened to the audio versions. Probably available at the library but also worth buying because I found each time I reread or listened I got a lot more out of it, so much to digest!

I was surprised by how much I loved these as well!

Flight of the Heron. It's about Scotland in 1745 and Diana Gabaldon acknowledges it as an inspiration for her Outlander series. The hero is even a red-headed Scot called Jamie. My Scottish grandmother gave it to me when I was 13 or 14.
