I don't know what you are talking about. I'd have to shell out an additional 20-30K right now to get a car with similar features. It's not in my budget. I keep my cars a long time and it's not been a long time. We aren't talking about a few thousand dollars.

I've always been an Elon Musk skeptic. I didn't have any personal feelings about him either way until his bizarre procreation practices came to light. I think he's basically a female version of Elizabeth Holmes, even with his success in some areas.

I think Tesla will crash and burn (some of the cars, literally) eventually. They are data sieves. The only reason they haven't been hacked en masse is that no one has had enough incentive, yet. I also think their interior setup is dangerous with that huge touchscreen, but I digress.

I don't own a Tesla but if I did I wouldn't trade it in just for the association. That doesn't hurt his bottom line or help the planet. But I do think it's funny that he's alienating the group most likely to buy his cars; the right either don't want Teslas or can't afford them.

Trading in the Teslas en masse is apparently the best way to send a message. Most of the cars are leased and residual value is a huge driver of the cost competitiveness of lease terms. When residual values fall, the lease gets more expensive ...
