It's like asking CVS to hold press conferences on the car break-ins in their parking lot. It's a police matter. MCPS is not in the law enforcement business.
Except that MCPS actively tries to not get MCPD involved. Look back at the news articles about the Damascus rape case and the Rockville rape case. Or talk to families in those clusters. MCPS did not want to involve the police, and held off doing so.

Unfortunately, that is not going to happen in this County. It is clear that MCPS has problems from the top down. Especially when it comes to student safety. I mean, anyone who has been paying attention to the sexual abuse issues (bus drivers, security guards, etc abusing kids) can see that.
And independent investigation would be a good place to start.

That's what they did. Ziegler had just been hired in 2021. He didn't keep kids safe. He's gone.

MCPS has a responsibility to follow all the laws. This goes for reporting serious incidents, reporting grades, reporting attendance, and following anti-discrimination laws including Section 504 and IDEA. Students suffer when MCPS uses their positions of power to hide problems vs. fixing problems when they occur. That is what a grand jury uncovered in LCPS. Montgomery County should have a grand jury investigation for MCPS.
And MCPS seems to take that responsibility seriously and fully complies with the laws. If you have credible evidence that they aren't (not a FOX news opinion piece) please share.

MCPS doesn't even have an independent auditor. No way they have a culture that would agree to a grand jury investigation.

This. Student safety is not a priority, for sure. It’s all about optics in MCPS and sweeping incidents under the rug, whenever possible.
I would like to agree, but typically MCPS is not allowed to say anything involving minors or during police investigations and trials. The law protects minors and what can be said.
Generally that applies if you _name_ the minor. If you don't, there's a lot more leeway on what can be reported.
