OP so in that case our morning nap would be around 7:30
maybe I can swing? A little hard to make that work because I have an older one who has to get out the door by 7:45am and we're in crunch time, but maybe I could aim for 8:00am and see if I can get the baby down right after DD goes to school.
yeah by 6 months most are moving towards two hours from wake so 8 would be fine (np) It can be hard but usually works itself out within the next couple months. It sounds like she might be overtired when going for the nap since she's crying for so long, often if overtired you get the crying, undertired is when they just hang out in the crib but dont go to sleep. So that can help you in trying to assess your wake windows. You could also experiment with helping her "save the nap" since she is still learning out to make those connections between cycles. So what I would do is give yourself a time limit - 30 minutes may be good to start. Give her 30 minutes to fuss with checks and then if she doesn't seem closer by then you intervene and get her a nap another way. OR if she does go down but only sleep for 30 min, then you try to go in and shush her, hold her, rock her to get her back down for the second part of the cycle. She's having trouble connecting cycles so this can actually help her learn how to do it - like hey 30 min is not enough, I'm going to help you finish this out. That also helps you get on a better schedule where she can then have a longer wake window befor enext nap. I suspect she's getting overtired between naps since she's only getting 30 min. Who knows though, it's so tricky at these ages but usually works out by 8 months.
Peaceful sleeper has a lot of good info that helped me on saving the nap. That really reduced my stress with my second and I felt like he "got it" quicker
