I'm in the Midwest. My friend is from Brooklyn and last year while her mom was visiting, she made us egg creams! I had never heard of it before.

(Is this even a thing, like anywhere on earth??)

It was definitely a thing back in the 60s/70s in Detroit. Can’t remember what it was called if anything. I think may go back further than that. I wasn’t a big fan but parents were. I think this was also a drink on happy days/ Laverne and Shirley?

Yep, milk and Pepsi. I tried it a few times as a kid because I loved Laverne and Shirley. I thought it was fine but not amazing.

A few months ago I had red wine and Coca Cola. Fine but not amazing.

I went through a phase of drinking pilk as a kid due to L&S. I remember really liking it!

Not OP but pretty sure it stands for pop, because certainly this disaster is from the part of the US that calls it pop and not soda.

My Midwest parents had this as a treat growing up in the 40s/50s

I adore chocolate egg creams. When I was pregnant they were the only thing that didn’t make me nauseous.

I also like ice cream floats with soda but dr. Towns cherry is better than Pepsi! I’ve never had Pepsi and milk but can imagine it’s okay if it’s whole milk. Would probably be gross with skim.

Where are you from Op?

Curious b/c people just say "Coke" and not Coca-Cola

As a small town Midwestern kid in the early 80s, we definitely drank “pop and milk.” It was a rare treat because we almost never had pop in the house.

Didn't anyone ever watch Laverne and Shirly? Laverne lived on the milk and Pepsi combo. Is it a midwest thing?
