Thanks all for all the great recommendations! Also for the person who said what is wrong with my racist self for using the word ethnic....I am south asian american. I did have a moment where I thought some person on DCUM is probably going to criticize this use. Here is what the NYT style book says:
Stylebook says: ethnic. Use the word freely as an adjective (ethnic group), but not as a noun except in direct quotations. The political coinage (white ethnics) is condescending.
I think if NYT is OK with this use, I am OK with it too.
