The only thing I’ll miss is that we are not doing mashed potatoes this year because the main is a butternut squash and vegetarian chorizo lasagne.

We did a butternut squash main but also had mashed potatoes. Why would one preclude the other?

If they had limited space, they may have felt it was too carby.

We had lasagna bolognese, homemade focaccia, caesar salad, green beans almondine, and roasted potatoes. The desserts were pretty traditional though.

We're heading over to our friend's place (they're Puerto Rican) and I know she made coquito for us. I'm bringing baked char siu bao, a la Tim Ho Wan (a Hong Kong restaurant) style with craquelin topping. I've made the char siu and the from scratch sauce many times before but I'm trying out a different bo lo bao and craquelin recipe for today. Last week we celebrated an early Thanksgiving with my family and I made Peking duck.

We are having chicken instead of turkey, no stuffing. But we will have some common Thanksgiving items like cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie and green beans and sweet potatoes.

We’re doing a full Indian spread.

Same. Same.

Yum! I should try this around Christmas.

Today we all agreed on a huge pancake brunch as our main meal. It was great, I didn't over eat, and I'm already done cleaning up.

Chicken.
