Wow. This forum never fails to deliver. OP asks question and people respond, including saying it’s luck, and it’s victim blaming? Do you live in some content controlled environment like a bio dome or the Truman show?

I meant the “tips” you find on google like losing weight slowly, lotion, whatever. And I think responders in this thread falsely credit their actions for their results. They have no counter factual.

What amount do you consider significant? Pps have lost 80-100 lbs and gave a realistic description of their results. If you had "massive amounts" of loose skin as a teen, you must've lost 200+ lbs and/or lost it in a short period of time.

It was 90 lbs, lost over 2 years.

I lost the weight in my late 30s and I didn't bother doing it slowly, though I did weight train the whole time. It's luck of the draw on skin elasticity, OP.

Ok if you say so.

I believe the chances of having loose skin are pretty high when you've gained so much weight. Also the length of time you've carried the extra weight also plays a role on the skin elasticity. Think about how much the skin has to stretch for pregnancies. It's only stretched out for a short period of time, therefore the skin is able to snap right back.

NP. I lost 80 pounds in my 20s and had lots and lots of loose skin that needed a tummy tuck. Never been pregnant. It’s pure luck/genetics.

Try using the oil people use to prevent stretch marks when they’re pregnant; it helps with elasticity. That said, a lot of elasticity is genetic.

If you lose it slowly you shouldn’t have too much loose skin. I had a baby (vaginally) at 40 and have zero loose abdominal skin even though I was carrying huge. It all snapped back.
I am 50 now and I did lose 14 pounds in 2 weeks from an illness. Had some loose thigh skin at that time that made me look and feel 80 years old. But I gained about half back and it looks normal now.
If you have a lot of loose skin you can get it removed. It’s still better for you than being very heavy.
