Not much Maret can do with the physical existing space given the neighborhood restrictions. My kid is looking at playing bball and baseball there so while I do wish they had a gym that looked like Sidwell, I am intrigued with the new outdoor facilities.

Neighborhood restrictions? Their campus is a historic landmark. That has nothing to do with the neighborhood.

NP. Maret has same college matriculation as Sidwell and GDS so I generally would agree with PP. Plus they have better athletics in general (aside from Sidwell with better bball). I would say Maret’s star has been rising quite a bit the last few years.

I honestly don’t see a difference between Maret and Sidwell. Went to the Maret football semi finals game today. Met quite a few families that are headed to Ivy League.

Ah. Your child is a recruited-not-technically athlete. Yes, the marquee football, basketball and baseball players DO matriculate to the same schools from Maret and Sidwell and STA. Especially if URM.

So your football player will bet set wherever he goes and you should choose the high school you like best. They’ll all give you an offer

This is demonstrably false.

They are generally all “ascending” since the density and children in the area keep increasing and the public schools keep botching their reading & math curricula, and dumb down their behavior, grading and behavior policies.

Keep an eye out for private schools that did the same, you’d be surprised at the changes there. “Descending”.

Long wait lists everywhere since Covid uptick in applicants.
But do your homework.

I think bullis is in the up and up but if the lower school buys into too much kumbaya it won’t succeed at stronger academics in upper school.

We considered Landon but last summer their summer academic class was terrible, to put it nicely. They need to up their teaching game. When we and other parents complained, nothing changed and they weren't responsive.
