Three curly girls including myself. (One DD with 4c tight coils) We own 4 tangle teasers and bottles of kinky curly knot today or talia waajid detangler. It’s not cheap but can work miracles. And lots of water via spray bottle.

Wetbrush, leave in conditioner, braid it wet or better yet blowdry then braid

Use products for ethnic hair, a good conditioner AND a leave-in conditioner. Only brush when wet and conditioned, and no more than once a week.

PP- also, if hair isn't wet already, use a basic spray bottle of water to dampen hair before adding leave-in conditioner

Always put hair in two braids at night (if hair is "free" at night the tangles in the morning are so much worse)

The Conair detangling paddle brush you can get at a drug store or Amazon for $6.99 works the best for us. We tie a low ponytail first and and work from the ends to brush out the tangles and then brush out the entire length of the hair. Doesn’t take too long if you brush before bed and again in the morning.

Are you struggle to brush it at night when wet post shower/bath, or is it when it is dry and knotted in the morning?
