Yes, and the surprising thing is that the US State Dept has not required the Basis Independent schools to register as a Foreign Agent under the applicable US laws and regulations.

Actually, the Primavera Capital Group, a Hong Kong-based company with operations in mainland China, is the majority owner of the California-based Spring Educational Group, which acquired ownership of all the Basis independent schools in the US in 2017.
