No, the average time to get pregnant is actually 9-10 months. People on here are just crazy and like to age-shame older moms.

I'm very sorry for your losses but some of us can't be up front about that because it never happened to us. I got pregnant about two months after we started trying when I was 35 and I had the baby at 36, and the same when I was 38/39. It was easy peasy, no fertility struggles. I feel the opposite of you -- the internet tells you it will be so hard, you're so old, blah blah but I and my good friends had no trouble at all having babies at 35+ The struggles are a lie. Your miscarriages are just genetics, PP. Again, very sorry for your losses.

4 months at 36, with a chemical on month 1. Cycle 2 our timing wasn’t great.

Had conceived on first try at 34 for first kid.

3 months trying isn’t much. I wouldn’t worry yet.

Me - immediately.
Sibling - multiple miscarriages before throwing money at IVF.

4 months at 37. 1 month at 39 (while still breastfeeding, which supposedly lowers fertility). I know I'm an outlier, and I think these are some things that helped:

- I had a vegetarian diet and ate soy products a few times a week, and I didn't eat much junk food.
- I used to exercise vigorously when I was in my late 20s-mid 30s (ran marathons, etc) but had injuries and reduced intensity for a year prior to TTC. I was still active for about an hour a day in the year before I TTC, just at a much more relaxed pace (yoga, walking, jogging).
- I was 10 lbs heavier than when I exercised vigorously, but still in the normal BMI range.
- I had a low stress job and not much personal drama.
- When I got pregnant a second time, I was still taking prenatals because I was nursing my first child.

Get tipsy. One night, not a recurring thing. It’ll happen.

First pregnancy at age 39, it took one month.

Second pregnancy, at age 40, it took 4 months.

We never used BC after the pregnancy at age 40, and I didn't conceive at all in four years. I was told I had secondary infertility.

1st try at 37 (baby #4). Babies #1 and #3 took longer, 2 and 3 months respectively.

If you’re not pregnant after 1-2 months does that mean you have a problem?

Pregnant on first try at 37 for first pregnancy. I had subsequent miscarriages but was over 40 when we tried again and my OB has told me 40+ is a totally different ballgame than 35-39. She doesn't view 35-38 as an AMA pregnancy unless there is a history of fertility issues (beyond additional screening that they recommend for everyone 35+).
