It really depends on the person. Our nanny’s love language is gifts so she would be disappointed if we only gave her cash. She always tells me that I am the best gift giver. I don’t like to shop but I make an effort for her and the kids.

-Barefoot Dreams cardigan + Ugg slippers
-Any kind of membership you have that you can add her (and her family?) to like gym, museum, etc.
-If you travel for work and have a lot of miles, many families gift their nanny a roundtrip plane ticket
-Any benefits you can add like more PTO, phone stipend, quarterly car detail if she uses her car for work
-A date night cooking class for now-DH and I with a nice bottle of wine to bring
-One family gave me a simple necklace with the kids' birth stones and I loved it.
-One family that I cooked dinner for starting buying extra so I'd have enough to bring home every night for DH and I. Now that was nice to not have to cook dinner at work and then go home and cook another meal for us!

But yes cash is king

These are all nice ideas - thank you! (not the OP)

I am a Nanny & I agree that ca$h is DEFINITELY king.

However I think the OP wanted advice/suggestions on something to go along w/cash.

Such as a personal or token gift 🎁.

I personally would like a gift card to a fabulous restaurant or a clothing store.

OP > You sound like a very thoughtful + generous employer!

Nanny here- My boss is super sweet but terrible at gift giving. She buys me super expensive household items with geometric patterns and modern design. I really hate all these items and I sell them all on eBay. Please h just give a card from the kids (the best gift!!) and cash or a gift card.
