Take a look at the ingredients. I’d rather support a local pie shop that uses local ingredients instead of giant that uses lard, preservatives, etc. It is good to you, because that’s what the chemicals do to your brain.

There are no unusual (lard or preservatives) ingredients in my Giant's apple pie. None. I live in Virginia.

If you’re using a food processor to make a homemade crust, you are doing it wrong!

Wow, they charge nearly $40 for one pie. You could go out for a nice full meal at that price.

A 9”’pie generally serves 8-10, so technically a $40 pie is not the same as paying $40 for a nice full meal (for one).

Oh please, you are paying $40 for butter, flour, sugar and some apples. It is overpriced.

np for you. Look we get it you would not spend this much. I suggest that you move along.

Well, people in Arlington are such suckers that they are willing to just step aside and overpay for absolutely everything.

There is a stand at the Bethesda farmer’s market that sells bread and pies - they have an excellent key lime pie; I haven’t tried the others, but I would trust them based on the key lime pie alone. And I say this as someone who loved Pie Sisters.

OP,
Henry's Sweet Treats in Bethesda (Woodmont Triangle).

We've had their apple and several others. These are not cheap at $40---great fresh ingredients (and the pies are heavy to carry!) and IMO & guests' opinions, way better tasting that some supermarket pies listed here.

They have an Apple, Dutch Apple, and Apple Brown Betty pie.

They’re really not that hard to make. Get a food processor off marketplace to make the crust.
