+1 You say your child isn't feeling well, which is true. If it extends past a couple of days, you probably should consult with your pediatrician anyway. Last year, I thought my child was overstressed and shutting down. It turns out they had COVID, with the main symptom being fatigue. That's just one of many physical conditions that can mimic mental health issues.

+1. It takes a LOT of days before mcps cares.

Mental health is health. Period. We should all understand this by now.

Take them as needed. But your kid will need to make up the work.

Go for it. I let my kid take off three days of school last week just because she didn't want to go.

Ok, then.

dp... yes, DC and friends have been working hard on all the essays. Applying to 9 colleges. DC said a lot of seniors will be taking a "mental health" day on 11/1. Their math teacher moved their quiz to the following day. Even the math teacher knows this is happening.

Do students get the same number of sick days as teachers before they are considered unexcused?!?

That's not a mental health day and they have had all summer and fall to work on them.
