We live off 2nd street in Eckington and I don't see many children. My apologies. my child and I are new here. we could go to Alethia Tanner Park but just getting adjusted. My apologies however.
Don’t apologize. We always love this thread. It is always started by a newbie that just has to suffer from our amusement. Thanks for playing!

some towns do that to avoid bad weather or to take advantage of a weekend, non-school nightAnonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Will you take your child on Sunday or Halloween Monday?
Does anybody go trick or treating on any day other than Halloween? I've never heard of that.

I grew up in the Midwest and trick or treating was always on a weekend night. The Saturday closest to Halloween. So, yes, other areas of the country do. I’ve been here long enough to not ask![]()

Same here (St. Louis area) but was talking with a friend today who's from Chicago and she said not only did she trick-or-treat in her neighborhood on a designated weekend night growing up, but the place she lived even published trick-or-treat times, like from 4-6:30 pm. I never went out before dark, even when I was really little! So yes, there are definitely local/regional differences and you are not crazy for asking, OP. I hope you and your kid have a great Halloween!

Welcome to DC. We trick or treat on Halloween. Between dusk and 8ish to 9ish pm. If you and your kids show up at anyone’s door on any other day, you will be the talk of the neighborhood for YEARS.
