That’s funny because D is the only option that would make me mad. I don’t want the whole week of Thanksgiving off and I think our school years have been going too far into June. It’s not hard to start a week earlier when you’ve just had 9 or 10 weeks off, but the longer we keep going after Memorial Day, the more burned out everyone is from the long slog from Spring break to the end of the year. I’m surprised you’re willing to give up all PD days.

Anonymous wrote:The 2 week winter break is dumb. Kids are in school the entire week leading up to Christmas then off for an entire week the first week of January.
A full week off for Thanksgiving is dumb too. The Wednesday should be a half day. Parents can take their kids out if needed. This is about the sub shortage.

D says it starts the Monday before Labor Day, like normal.
Note this part of the memo:
"This memorandum presents four calendar scenarios as examples of possible combinations of elements and their various impacts on the overall 2023–2024 School Year Calendar. These are not intended to be finalized calendars but rather a starting point for further refining and adjusting the calendar moving forward."
