UVA does not use ED as most other schools do; only go ED at UVA if you have outstanding stats across the board.

My DD submitted with a 1440, 4.4 legacy OOS. Applied early, got deferred then waitlisted. Never got in. Hope you have better luck.

My son submitted his 1430 score (780 Math and 650 Verbal) even though the verbal was below 50th percentile. He is planning to major in engineering.

I would definitely submit instate in Virginia. Admissions are strongly based on grades, and those tests scores are high enough to help.
