As others shave said would do it after the holidays. Everyone is busy, and personally, I will try to be careful before thanksgiving and xmas break so we don’t come down with covid before, or infect more vulnerable family members.

Spring/summer!

After Christmas. Covid will happen or not, but I definitely don't want to go to a big indoor get together the weekend before I travel to see my elderly parents.

My DD has a mid-december birthday and we are debating this as well. Would hold off until january but all this talk of another holiday covid wave makes me nervous. I don't know if it would be better to do early december? I think I'm too late to try to pull it off in november before thanksgiving.

For my mid-december birthday child, we do a party in late January. Gives her a chance to celebrate without the competing holiday. We still do our traditional family birthday things on her actual birthday, but anything with her school friends is in January when it's less hectic.

Some cultures believe it is bad luck to have a celebration before the actual day of the birthday. I would have it in January.
