My doctor said my prediabetes may be "predisposed" since my blood sugar/glucose keeps rising and I am not overweight, eat fairly balanced meals and exercise regularly. But I'm trying to see if walking right after meals would help.

I was diagnosed with pre-diabetes a year ago and didn’t get much advice besides, “cut out bread and pasta.” There are some great dietitians online who specialize in pre-diabetes/high blood sugar/diabetes advice, and most of them say pairing carbs with protein, fat and fiber is the way to go. Also walking after meals. I have been able to lower my levels out of pre-diabetes range following this advice but still working on higher sugar - the doctor I saw this time said treat exercise like a prescription.

I lost 10 pounds and went from prediabetic to normal. I wasn’t even overweight - was 145lbs at 5’7 and am now 135lbs. I also started exercising. I am now 50 and have had no problems with my blood sugar for 10 years. You can do it OP! It really motivated me to change my lifestyle

Take metformin. I’m Indian vegetarian and my a1c went down within months, and I also lost about 10 lbs. i don’t coma void all sugar but try to be more conscious. The medicine has worked great!

Op here. It was a one off test from my physical. I am going for a follow up and I suspect they will do an A1C next. I just don't want to mess with type II. I have seen the consequences from family members.
